We had an excellent experience working with Westruct, especially Sherwan Articheture and Design. From the very beginning, Sherwan was professional, knowledgeable, and extremely supportive throughout the entire process. He helped us successfully obtain planning application approval, which many others had previously said was not possible. Sherwan’s expertise and clear understanding of planning regulations proved them wrong. His design approach was both creative and practical, and the plans were excellent making outstanding use of the available space and completely transforming how the house works. The structural design report was very accurate and thorough, giving us real confidence to move forward without issues. Communication was clear, deadlines were met, and every question was answered patiently and honestly. We approached WeStruct off the back of the web presence that inferred competence and great experiences. Our situation was a little challenging in that an adjustment was needed to shorten a first floor room to better position for neighbour convenience and privacy. The desired outcome was realisation that an RSJ was needed to then connect onwards into the main structure which comprised of other RSJs that are in situ to support a glass lantern. Anyway, having consulted the existing structural engineer and tolerating question marks, I ended up approaching WeStruct. My experience with WeStruct has been second to none, Sherwin is an highly qualified and clearly pragmatic structural engineer. Initial contact to a collaborative Zoom session – he understood straight away and was able to explain the likely solution, managing expectations along the way and being as realistically about it as he could prior to full assessment. He is an absolute pleasure to work with given the ‘cutting to the chase’ mentality, pleasant demeanour, setting out prerequisite and the approach to my requirement - an open plan ground floor and an opened up first floor bedroom to best support our family requirement. In terms of the onwards experience, Sherwin’s team got involved, we exchanged a few pics and the output something to behold! If I compare it with what I attained via the original structural engineer- it’s a different level, very comprehensive, covering the RSJ in isolation and as a package with everything encompassed In a document standard that shouts credibility. The discovery of WeStruct was a God send being in the predicament we were in. Sherwin provided the output that has underpinned the work in-progress with confidence. I have finally had a moment to write this up given travels and aftermath and the delay was constraint in being able to instigate on the phone. I will due course upload more photos but held back given the sensitivities at this moment noting the neighbour sentiment despite how unreasonable it maybe. Going forward, I will be returning to Sherwin for ALL subsequent requirements with my eyes literally closed – which should be indicative of my faith and satisfaction in WeStruct.
