I have used First Mortgage (NE) for my renewal twice now. My first experience was excellent, which is why I chose to return. Unfortunately, this time the service has fallen well below expectations. I was allocated a consultant and waited several weeks for the appointment, only for him to call an hour early. He seemed in a rush, telling me the process would “take 5 minutes.” He rushed through my questions, carried out a hard credit check on a product I had not agreed to, and provided no follow up afterwards. The experience was extremely disappointing. I then requested another appointment and waited a further three weeks. The second consultant I spoke with was lovely and took the time to explain my options, which I appreciated. I confirmed my chosen option three days later, but it took several more days for her to respond and then another week to schedule the next appointment. By that point—almost three weeks after our initial discussion—the deal I wanted was no longer available. We had to start again, and due to market changes, the interest rates had increased significantly. While I understand the business model aims to serve a high volume of customers without charging a fee, this experience left me questioning whether it is the right model for me. I did not feel I had timely access to a mortgage broker who could respond to queries promptly or dedicate the necessary attention to securing the best deal.

I had an excellent experience with First Mortgage (NE), thanks to the outstanding support from Rose and Diane. The entire process was handled online via Microsoft Teams, making everything smooth, efficient, and convenient. They took the time to understand my circumstances, clearly explained the options, and helped me choose a mortgage that suited my needs. They were professional, and supportive throughout, I would highly recommend them.
