A pleasure to deal with, efficient and work hard for their clients
I recently sold my house and used Oakwood Solicitors. Ope dealt with the conveyancing for me. She was approachable when issues arose. Knowledgable and efficient in dealing with issues when that came up. Ope always returned my calls and emails in a timely manner. Overall it was a smooth process for me. I would recommend Ope to deal with your property sale.
Great experience using this firm for my house purchase. Ope was professional, efficient, and kept me updated throughout, making the whole process feel smooth and stress-free. Would definitely recommend!
Karla & Deborah have been fantastic throughout my house move covering both my buying and selling. Very fairly priced, I would highly recommend.
Referencing my husband Gary’s review, I wanted to share some specific examples of the poor level of service we experienced from Oakwood Property Solicitors during our recent house sale and purchase.

At one stage we chased our solicitor to send the first responses to enquiries on our purchase and were told they would be forwarded within a few days. When we followed up again after that time had passed, we received an out of office reply confirming annual leave. After Beverley returned, it took a further week for the responses to be sent. When they were eventually forwarded, they were simply passed on without any accompanying legal advice.

In December we also chased progress on completion of what was a chain free purchase, having agreed the sale back in August and with our living arrangements becoming increasingly difficult. The response we received felt dismissive, with the comment that “everyone else was chasing to complete before Christmas,” rather than any acknowledgement of our individual circumstances.

Basic administrative steps were also missed. For example, after the sale of our property we did not receive our completion statement until we specifically asked for it. Had we not been better versed in the house sale process, we would have been left without important necessary paperwork.

We raised these and other concerns through a formal complaints procedure. Unfortunately, Oakwood Solicitors did not accept that there were any issues with the service provided and closed the complaint without any meaningful resolution.

Based on our experience, we would not recommend using this company.
We were extremely disappointed with the service provided by Oakwood Property Solicitors, which ultimately led to us submitting a formal complaint.

While we recognise that our purchase was a little complicated, our solicitors were often hard to get hold of, communication was often very slow, and progress towards resolving key issues frequently felt very slow unless we intervened ourselves.

Overall the process felt reactive rather than actively managed, which created a huge amount of unnecessary stress.

We formally raised our concerns regarding communication, delays and case management. We do not feel that the complaint was properly investigated or meaningfully addressed, and no satisfactory resolution was offered.

Based on our experience, the service fell well below the standard we expected and we do not recommend Oakwood Solicitors to others.
Very happy with the service I received. I would recommend
Did they get the job done? Yes. But as first time buyers they lacked advice and guidance and we were often left in the dark. Steven regularly ignored questions in emails as he “didn’t understand them”. Which is concerning and did not fill us with confidence. When I tried to speak to someone more senior to find out what was happening with our property purchase and said I would like to make a complaint. I was never called back. Overall, I would struggle to recommend their service. If you have experience in buying/selling and are comfortable with the conveyancing process then they would be okay at best.
Made the sale of my mum's property really easy. Communication was great. Very efficient. Thank you
