Abbey Damp Proofing Liverpool

I feel I must write a review about the excellent experience I had choosing Abbey Damp to sort out a rising damp problem in my bungalow. Lee identified the problem, quoted a reasonable price, and his team completed the job very quickly and professionally over a few days. They made very little mess and tidied up every day. The finished job including the plastering and replacement skirting is to a very high standard. I can,without any hesitation, recommend them to anybody needing similar work doing in their home.

Can't recommend these guys enough! Every day they kept us informed of their progress, showed up on tim, and kept the work area clean for our kids. Super professional and efficient! We have used Abbey Damp Proofing Liverpool in April 2025, with Ray providing site survey, pricing up and then coordinating the works and comms. Exceptional leadership from Ray from start to finish! He was extremely capably supported by his expert crew of technical staff: Alan and Carl, the damp proofers, arrived as agreed, protected all surfaces including parquet flooring, the piano, walls and paintings. They then worked tirelessly on what was a really tricky job - the house is old, with historic features and some crumbling parts! It was clear that we were the only anxious ones, as the team has clearly ‘seen it all before’ - they were confident, competent, skilled and reassuring. The next working day, the plasterer, Alan (also!) came and completed the wall finish. Neat, tidy, swift! Lastly, there was some specialist joinery to finish the job as the historic skirting and boxing was water/woodwork damaged beyond saving and so needed to be replaced, but was not the ‘off the shelf’ type. Simon, the joiner, did a great job custom-building the new solutions to match 100+- year old ones. As the job was done, Ray revisited our agreement, and payment was made and invoice and warranty for the works provided. Ray even highlighted that I miscalculated the payment and flagged that I was planning on overpaying by accident - such honesty and integrity is a rare quality nowadays and was really appreciated. All in all, we had a really positive experience of Abbey Damp Proofing and we will definitely use again in the future if required. Highly recommended! We had the lads at Abbey Damp Proofing in for a week From the very start Ray and the guys where superb. Peter and 'little' Alan came first to take off the plaster and lift the floor what lovely Gents, so polite and so respectful of our house Every night they cleared up and cleaned the floors. Next came George to put new joists and floor in, again such a genuinely lovely fella and as we where getting used to now very clean and tidy in his work 'Little' Alan came back to line the wall again clearing up after he'd finished Next came 'Big' Alan to plaster the walls a d stating the now obvious the cleanest plasterer I've seen Last but not least came Simon the joiner to put back the skirting boards...again a proper tradesman clean and cracked on with the job Carl popped in a few times for help with stuff and Ray was there constantly They are are a pleasure to deal with a d to have in your house..proper old fashioned tradesmen who are polite and look after your house Would I recommend them ..if course in a heartbeat I have no doubt they will be back in our home at some point I can't say anymore than that A⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I don't typically leave a review for services but had to for Abbey. I found Abbey Damp Proofing Liverpool through google and based on the great reviews I contacted them. I spoke to a lady who booked an appointment for me straight away. I had an initial visit from Alan and Jamie (punctual), they were meticulous in the way they dealt with my damp issue and reassuring about the process. They explained everything they do and how they plan to go about it. We arranged a start date and they kept to their word and was at the job on time. On the first day, they were respectful in how they treated my home and covered exposed areas, my things and the floor in protective dustsheets, they left my house clean and tidy each evening. over my item and floor. They replaced the damaged skirting-boards and Ian (Carpenter) even generously replaced extras from an unfinished job from another builder. As part of the job, the radiator had to be removed and the plumber (Harrison) came within days to mount it back on the wall. He was very knowledgeable and skilled, turned my gas boiler back on after 8 months and checked everything was working exactly the way it supposed to. I kept in touch with Lee and Alan if I had any questions, they were helpful and patient. I am really pleased with the quality of the work and would recommend Abbey without hesitation. I could keep going but I think I will stop here – all in all excellent job.
