Declan was a pleasure to deal with. He is extremely knowledgable and is able to explain things simply and clearly to someone with no knowledge in the area. He reviewed an independent survey I had done during my purchase and then came to do his own survey. The initial survey recommended significant work, which Declan disagreed with and showed me the readings as he went around. In the end he saved me £'000s. So refreshing to have someone so transparent in the building industry. Would highly recommend.

Declan, surveyor, came prepared with a thermostat equipment. Quick price, long gaurentee. Dan was very trustworthy, reliable and efficient. He got the job done in a day and left the place very clean. He also took pictures of his work which is helpful as I was out.

We instructed ‘Crown Preservation Damp Proofing’ to carry out a damp survey in our ground floor flat. We were concerned that it may be rising damp but were so relieved after having spoken to Declan (the owner) who had such a wealth of knowledge that he was so happy to share with us over the phone and potentially saved us a small fortune. It turned out to be condensation in the room that was causing the damp patches on the wall and black mould. He advised us that this could easily be resolved with virtually no cost by always ventilating the room, not drying clothes in the room, removing plants, buying a black mould spray and ensuring the room was warm with the heater on. Such a breath of fresh air, to find someone quite genuine and someone that was prepared to share his many, many years of experience and knowledge with you. There are so many cowboys out there, that could have easily sold you an unnecessary damp-proof course for thousands of pounds. Well worth the £180 for the damp survey. Thank you

I had a junior surveyor, Dan, do my survey (who was nice) albeit a few hours late. He hadn’t read the instructions on the email - to ensure we used thermal imaging to properly investigate a leak (I had to tell him!) - probably flustered from being quite late! The report indicates a lot more damp than my last survey (6 months ago - which is fine I’ll just have to get another opinion!)- I waited a long time for it (apparently sent out but not received) only sent again after I had called . The report - references my name misspelt on multiple occasions - doesn’t look like it’s been looked over. All in all, I probably wouldn’t recommend.
