On Friday 26th June, I contacted DNA Flooring after a friend recommended them. He'd heard only good things about the company, and after a negative experience elsewhere, I was hoping I'd finally found someone reliable to help with my flooring.<br><br>The person who answered the phone was friendly enough. I explained that I was looking to have laminate flooring fitted, and he booked me in for a measuring appointment at midday on Monday 29th June. Given that I'm on a mission to get my home sorted, I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly they could come out. He also took the time to answer the questions I had.<br><br>So, midday came and went yesterday. As my call log (pictured) reflects, I called them at 12:37.<br><br>I explained what had been arranged to the person who answered. He immediately assumed I was in Stockport. I'm not. I corrected him, and he asked me to hold while he checked something.<br><br>A short time later, somebody else picked up the phone without introducing themselves and simply repeated "Hello." We ended up in a rather awkward back-and-forth of saying "Hello" to each other until I realised I was now speaking to a different person.<br><br>I explained, once again, that my appointment had been booked for 12:00 and it was now approaching twenty to one.<br><br>I was then told they had only just returned from another job and that someone would come out to see me after lunch.<br><br>They never arrived.<br><br>There was no phone call, no text message, and no attempt to let me know they were running later than expected or were no longer coming.<br><br>I completely accept that jobs overrun and that things don't always go to plan. What I don't accept is being left waiting in all day without any communication whatsoever.<br><br>I had already chased the appointment once and been told somebody would come after lunch. On principle, I wasn't prepared to keep ringing throughout the afternoon to find out whether they still intended to honour the appointment. The responsibility to update me should have rested with them.<br><br>Unfortunately, reliability and communication are important to me, and on this occasion they fell well short of what I would expect. As a result, I won't be using DNA Flooring, and based on my experience, I can't recommend them.<br><br>Edit:<br>This is in response to DNA Flooring's reply.<br>I have attached my call log, which reflects that the only direct contact I had with the company on the day of the appointment was my outgoing call at 12:37.<br><br>I would also point out that there are four blocks of flats on my street which look almost identical. However, each block is clearly signposted with its own name.<br><br>I waited in all day for the appointment. Nobody buzzed my intercom, I received no phone call, and I received no text message from the company.

Used DNA for my kitchen and was so impressed. They even took up my old flooring and disposed of it - wasn’t expecting that. Top class work and zero mess behind. Would definitely recommend and will use again in the new year for my living room.

I can’t thank Ash and his team enough for excellent customer service, time was taken to understand my vision, and I was informed about the fitting process all in a timely and efficient manner.<br>Ash and his team completed our two-story staircase and landing carpet, 3 bedrooms and loft to a very high standard, I honestly can’t recommend them enough for their exceptional service.
